In the mid-1950s, Elvis Presley, already a rising star, sought to enrich his recordings with the rich harmonies of gospel and doo-wop. This led him to collaborate with The Jordanaires, a renowned vocal quartet known for their smooth harmonies and spiritual influences.
The Jordanaires had their roots in Springfield, Missouri, and had gained prominence through their performances on the Grand Ole Opry and appearances on television shows like "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts." 
Their blend of gospel and pop made them a perfect match for Elvis's evolving sound.
