The title's a great one – as Tyrone Davis has always had it, and has never lost it – but he sounds especially wonderful here during his legendary run for the Dakar/Brunswick label, where he was really able to forge a unique groove! Davis' vocals are wonderful – proud and powerful, but with this little rasp that brings in a great sense of humanity – and the backings are soaring in a Chicago soul style, but have a few bluesy undercurrents that really show off the west side roots of Davis. Arrangements are by Gene Barge, Tom Tom Washington, and Jerry Long – and titles include "I Had It All The Time", "Your Love Keeps Haunting Me", "After All This Time", and "Was I Just a Fool" – all great songs about love lost and love's worries!
