Playing a psychotic hit man paid to assassinate the President of the USA Sinatra is at his best. Both this film and Sinatra’s Manchurian Candidate were pulled from circulation at Sinatra’s request after the assassination of president John F Kennedy as the action and story-line of the films were seen to be too close to actual events. To add to the sensitivity Sinatra was a personal friend of the Kennedy family and it was alleged that JFK’s assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald had watched Suddenly just days before he shot and killed the President.
